Conservative weakly compressible smoothed particle hydrodynamics applied to flows with high vorticity

Abstract The Smoothed Particle Hydrodynamics (SPH) method in the so-called weakly compressible variant (which mimics incompressibility conditions) is studied context of its resolving power vortical flows. It well known that conservative formulations SPH have serious problems to provide reasonably accurate solutions even simple flow cases. This deficiency additionally emphasized by fact are not numerically convergent. We investigate and discuss chosen techniques improve results; yet, convergence issue remains. Maintaining properties (often presented literature as biggest advantage) requires procedures which contradiction with accuracy improvements. Some myths about discussed denied.
